Biography
I was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, a city infamous for it’s lack of sunshine. I would have to say that there is a definite link between my style and the environment that I spent so much time enduring. I often compensated for the drab skies and black and white atmosphere by injecting explosive color, and energetic line work into my compositions. Painting and design quickly became my favorite form of self expression and representation. However, this wasn’t the root of my fascination. I was instinctively drawn to the arts at a very young age. Over time this attraction developed into the realization that I needed to pursue a career in art. Soon after, I enrolled into The College of Fine Art at Youngstown State University. I quickly fell in love with both the diversity of the program and the professors. Inspiration surrounded me as I became immersed in the wide spectrum of genres. Everyday was a fresh experience. My anticipation was barely containable as I discovered oil painting, photography, and sculpture. I was soon after introduced to digital art and graphic design. The gratification was instantaneous. I was taken back by the power and the potential of the computer and software in the world of art and design. I was most intrigued with motion graphics, web design, and digital photography. I graduated from Youngstown State University earning a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with a strong focus on multimedia design and painting. After graduation I balanced my time between painting and photography, while sharpening my skills in motion graphics and web design. I recently relocated to Orlando, Fl. to further pursue my career as an artist and a designer. Currently, I have been spending most of my time doing contract web and print design. When I’m not designing I am studying actionscript, javascript, and php while keeping myself updated on web standards, semantic coding, and design trends. I have also recently begun painting again. I had almost forgotten how gratifying it is to bring a canvas to life. Painting and music are perfect companions with multimedia design. It allows me to go back and forth between mediums without getting burnt out. It is this symbiotic relationship that fuels my creativity. I am so thankful for being blessed with the ability to diversify myself and my capabilities in a number of different expressive mediums.
